There's lots to see and do in Richmond and the surrounding area. You may enjoy a scenic walk around the London Wetland Centre, a sanctuary of British wildlife set amongst the beautiful meadows and lakes. If you decide you want a more refined experience, you may like to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, which contains some of the finest assortments of florae in the world.
If you're a fan of historic architecture, then look no further than Hampton Court Palace, a significant royal building renowned for housing King Henry VIII during his reign. Richmond Theatre is also a very popular choice for nearby residents and visitors, featuring the newest screenplays and famous face. Another nearby destination is none other than Twickenham stadium, a world-famous venue that is home of the England rugby team, so be sure to book a stay in the area if you're a rugby fan!
Richmond is certainly not short of places to spend your hard-earned money, with a great mix of local suppliers and markets in addition to popular retailers and department stores that stand on George Street. A great place to visit on a weekend is the Duck Pond Market, an artisan market providing the best local crafters, artists, food producers and ethical businesses. Musicians also perform live here, with famous faces having been known to grace this special market.
Food and Drink
Richmond is well-known for its fantastic old pubs and bars that offer a warm welcome and very good food and drink. The White Swan, close to the River Thames, is a great recommendation for a place to eat, drink and relax. A great country-style pub offering a fantastic European menu, a beer garden, open fire, free Wi-Fi and private dining upstairs. If you fancy a more chilled vibe and a different blend of drink then Be At One Richmond is the perfect place to unwind with their popular cocktails and seating areas.
